Propuesta de mejora del plan de mantenimiento de la FAC para prevenir el deterioro prematuro del parque automotor por factores ambientales en zonas costeras del Atlántico y San Andrés.

The FAC automotive fleet of the coastal areas of the Atlantic and San Andrés has a useful life of approximately 6.5 years due to exposure to high salinity environments, which causes its parts to deteriorate and the vehicles must be scrapped. For the above, this project is proposed that aims to generate a proposal of improvement to the maintenance plan of said vehicle fleet, to prevent premature deterioration in its pieces due to environmental factors; in order to maximize its useful life and reduce costs. For this, a taxonomy study of the vehicle fleet was carried out, classifying it by typology and thus determining the degree of exposure to contact with high and low salinity areas; On the other hand, it was investigated about the different anticorrosive methods applicable to the automotive fleet exposed to these conditions and finally an improvement of the current maintenance plan was proposed, including specific activities, focused on the prevention of the acceleration of corrosion. With the above, it was evidenced that the typologies with the highest degree of exposure were pickups and motorcycles, however, and due to the current state of the entire fleet, it was proposed to apply specific maintenance activities to the 82 vehicles that comprise it, using a nonmetallic coating method and a preventive washing activities. Concluding that only 3.96% of the total replacement value of all vehicles would be invested and their useful life would increase by 50%.
