Bearing in mind that these stereotypes appear in the text across aspects like: the role and life of the Muslim woman, the Yihad as a concept involves in terms of religion and terrorism, the attacks of 9/11, the representation of Hollywood of Arab/Muslims and the terrorist group ISIS. Once mentioned the stereotypes that affect the Arab/Muslim culture, the text tries to defend and debate the negative arguments around Arab world, taking into account the external perception (point of view of Occident) and the perception internal (interview realized to a practicing person of the Islam); showing that the lack of information and the exaggeration from the mass media, make that others believe in Arab/Muslim culture as an example of fanaticism and terrorism.Publicación Acceso abierto Business plan - global international business(Universidad ECCI, 2016) Parra Araque, Jeimmy Alexandra; Serrano López, Laura Juliana; Guzmán Arias, Ana MaríaThis thesis project expects to announce a business idea about a web page called GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS. Those are the most important: the summary of the business, the market study, the technical analysis, the investment study, and the financial study. The analysis here exposed, is focused on a specific population group: the early childhood, it means newborns to 5 years old children. This research starts with a light review of some cultural aspects from the Wayuu community that will help the person who analyzes this issue to understand from the indigenous vision that is the one that has fought this situation from the beginning. Then, this paper continues with a deep look into the actions that are being taken to face and resolve this national concern situation and the development and consequences of these ideas. The studies done reflected a high rate of malnourishment in the children. These range from, diarrhea, parasitic, severe infections of the digestive and respiratory system, among some other diseases. On the other hand, some research articles show how corruption has slowed down some efforts to help the Wayuu community. At the end of the literature review, the reader will be able to analyze conclusions and settle its own judgments.Publicación Acceso abierto Dropping out aspects of indigenous university students in Colombia(Universidad ECCI, 2016) Peña Hernández, María Fernanda; Valbuena Mesa, Angela Patricia; Guzmán Arias, Ana MaríaDespite Colombian law and human rights state basic rights must be guaranteed to all citizens (no matter their racial condition is), it is shown that population like indigenous minorities still have difficulties to access higher education and in the same way, the ones that reach university, also face circumstances which force them to drop out. On the other hand, it is important not to ignore the fact that Colombian government’s institutions in charge of watch over citizens’ education and guarantee indigenous populations’ rights are partially involved in this process. Real testimonies of these people reveal that even when university quotas are recently given to these communities, students’ guidance is missing so they can achieve not only get to university but, finish studies successfully. This paper intends to analyze the current situation of indigenous people accessing higher education and at the same time, to evaluate the Colombian government’s role when the must offer education guarantees and development to indigenous minorities without affect their culture identity.Publicación Acceso abierto The influence of stereotypes when another country intends to do business with Colombia(Universidad ECCI, 2016) Bautista Santamaría, Jhon Anderson; Solano Peraza, Michael Alejandro; Guzmán Arias, Ana MaríaColombia is one of the most important countries in South America, according to the location, history, agreements with different countries, and the most relevant reason: overcoming the stereotypes which have affected its image along the history. Besides, this negative image of the country has been promoted, because since many years, Colombia has faced inner conflicts, which became into the main focus of the national and international media. Also, this document describes how the media could impact the world displaying soap operas, series, TV shows related to drug traffic, violence and guerillas in Colombian culture, as a resource to promote a negative image of the country. The result of the data found reflect the different activities in the university student community in which multiculturalism is experienced, in addition to the benefits granted by the government and few universities for educational development and growth of these ethnic communities especially African descent, indigenous or foreign. Those ones that do offer moderate services, it is evident in their tickets sell. In Colombia, it is possible to find different airlines that offer their services to travel anywhere. That’s the reason why travelers choose to travel by plane for reasons such as: business, leisure, and holiday’s seasons, among others. Indeed, people usually hesitate when they are about to travel with an airline. However, alliances and the presence of new airlines that offer flights abroad have directly affected the market by decreasing the use of the service. This is the main reason behind the making of this project. My proposal of marketing strategies to the low cost airline Easyfly will hopefully help them to join the domestic market and become recognized by the Colombian population to be used for travel. Also, this project proposes strategies to improve the airline’s image and to be highly recognized so it will be chosen as the first and preferred option by customers. Likewise the ideas are supported with sources and researches with evident and considerable results. Afterwards, the purpose of this document is to create in the readers a clear and concise idea, the reason why the stereotypes are common in the people thoughts and how this have an influence in their preferences, and beliefs to obtain opinions about a specific subject. This paper makes a contrast among gender stereotypes since these are the most remarkable and influential stereotypes in the human beings‟ beliefs and behaviors.
