Analysis of the adaptation and synchronization in the dubbing process of “The Proposal” movie

En la presente investigación se lleva a cabo el análisis de la película La Propuesta, la cual fue escogida por ser una comedia romántica; además, con algunos conocimientos previos se sabe que en el humor suele haber muchos cambios por el tema cultural. Debido a esto se puede analizar, describir y explicar algunas de las modificaciones semánticas que pueden ocurrir dentro del proceso de doblaje en las películas. Así mismo indagando en temas fundamentales que son motivos de cambios en los doblajes como movimiento labial, adaptación y sincronización. Lo anterior se descubrió gracias a una entrevista con un profesional en el área y algunos autores que escribieron artículos relacionados con este tema, dando como resultado la realización de esta investigación junto con el cumplimiento de los objetivos propuestos.

Analysis of the armies by Evelio Rosero: a view from the subjectivity of violence

This monograph aims to make an analysis of the novel The armies, by Evelio Rosero, a novel that tells the story of Ismael Pasos, an 80-year-old teacher who worked in the small towns of Colombia until he reached San José. There Ismael resides with his wife Otilia and he stands out not only for having taught to read and write to most of the people of the town, but in his old age he also becomes that distant spectator who narrates in a typified, normalized way, and almost natural, the violent events, the traumas and the culture of violence created by the conflicts between legal and illegal armed groups. In order to show the impact and some effects of the state abandonment that the novel exposes, it is intended to relate some violent events that occurred in Colombia with the situations that take place in San José. Likewise, in this work it will be found the concept of Empathic Unsettlement, a term proposed by the American professor and historian Dominick LaCapra (2001), as the literary resource that the writer used when deciding how to tell his novel. It should be emphasized that Rosero did not experience violence directly, however, he takes the necessary experience for the narrator from the information published in the different media. Grand Hyatt Dubai internship report

El objetivo de este informe es proporcionar información sobre la historia y las diferentes actividades y eventos en los que participa el Hotel Grand Hyatt. Además, se expondrán las actividades habituales que la estudiante de lenguas modernas realizó durante sus prácticas en Dubai y desde su propia experiencia se determinará los alcances que obtuvo y por lo tanto, se dará a conocer algunas recomendaciones basadas desde el proceso de la pasante. The purpose of this report is to provide information about the history and the different activities and events in which the Grand Hyatt Hotel participates. In addition, the usual activities that the student of modern languages carried out during her internship in Dubai will be presented, and from her own experience, it will be determined what she achieved and therefore, some recommendations based on the intern's process will be given.

Internship report

This internship report was developed in the International Project Group (from the Spanish Grupo de ProyectosInternacionales) in the UAEAC (UnidadAdministrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil). At the moment the Internship started, it was totally clear there in the International Project Group, was in need of someone who could give a support in the area, specifically with languages. It was totally needed because of the company image. For this reason there were some proposals in order to make this specific area improve for the development of the UAEAC. Because of this, there are some procedures that were done and of course they brought good results for the Group. The procedures were divided in different processes like helping with the logistics of international events with embassies, Aeronautical Institutions, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). There was a support with the archives in order to find cooperation agreements that were already made between Aeronautical Institutions and, in that way, keep the ideas together and move on with new opportunities.

Represión femenina en la novela gráfica "Persépolis" de Marjane Satrapi. Un análisis literario

Este trabajo de investigación propone un análisis literario de la represión hacia la mujer en la obra Persépolis, escrita por Marjane Satrapi, con fundamentos en la Teoría de la recepción. En él se encuentran descritos y analizados diversos fragmentos de la novela gráfica, desde la perspectiva de cómo el papel que desempeña la mujer dentro del desarrollo de la obra evidencia cómo la cultura, la religión y la política en el Irán del siglo XX, reprimen fuertemente a las mujeres en la sociedad. Son dos las subcategorías en las cuales se basó este análisis literario: el código de vestimenta y la vida sentimental de la protagonista de la obra. Además, se encuentran definidos algunos términos como Feminismo, Teoría de la recepción, Género y Sexo, entre otros, para ayudar a comprender de una mejor manera el análisis de las subcategorías escogidas de la obra. Así mismo, cabe resaltar que la obra Persépolis es reconocida por poner al descubierto el horror al que se ven sometidas las mujeres persas en su diario vivir, a través de dibujos que parecen ser infantiles, pero solo le restan crudeza al problema.
