Telecommunications networks are complex structures that incorporate information transmission for proper operation electronics in constant change and evolution, different means of transmission and different communication protocols; additionally much of its infrastructure is physically located in places where there is no control and safeguard the company providing telecommunications service generally is exposed to weathering in rural areas and cities where operating conditions may become be extreme, this implies a great effort and maintenance strategy to ensure proper operation and quality of services provided over the network. Given the large number of components, and different areas of knowledge that involves the operation of a telecommunications network maintenance work must be segmented and clearly delimited. With this project seeks to design a maintenance plan for the optical network of HFC residential service network, with which the availability and quality of services transported at a reasonable cost guarantee, this cost should not exceed 5%, of the revenues generated by the HFC network. To achieve this goal, we will design a typical optical network in a city and analyze its different components, mode of operation, quality parameters, points of failure, vulnerabilities and find a method (or combination of methods) keeping the which are adapted to the needs of the network, determining the necessary technical resources, and maintenance activities to be performed to ensure higher availability than 95%.

Today, we find that companies providing services for HFC networks have greatly expanded their networks, the use of these assets is seen as the amplifier for distribution of their signals, as this is an active maintainer stable signal for transmission parameters, you do not have the documentation and information necessary for this asset has the reliability and stability to make it profitable . For this reason, this paper is to raise a number of routines to be applied in preventive maintenance. First, an approach to the installation of these assets is made, because this is the start to have and ensure good reliability since its installation depends on the proper functioning. A series of routine maintenance for amplifiers that are used in HFC networks is suggested that in order to optimize the resource in companies providing services through HFC networks. What you want with this proposal is that companies reduce their impacts no signal , flashes or degradation.

In this research work are analyzed the necessary concepts for monitoring the active status of an equipment (disconnection of equipment), and the step by step for the configuration and entirely implementation of a server for monitoring equipment, accomplishing to visualize in a graphical user interface using a web application and display in real-time the disconnections. This is done in order to create a history record of equipment failures and implement the maintenance indicator (availability) that is required for electronic security.
