This research suggests that the differences in male and female communication styles affect and have an influence when communicating with people from another cultures. The cultural barriers in societies are massive referring to differences and stereotypes are the main reason for this barriers to exist. This document seeks to define gender stereotypes and their impact in interculturality. In addition, this paper explains and makes a contrast in women and men communication in relation with human behavior. Over the years Hollywood has created a global phenomenon around the world as they have the control about the Cinematographic Industry, for this reason they are a communication bridge between cultures. In a sense, they have created stereotypes of people and in this way they created an image of people from different countries and cultures, but sometimes those images could be negatives and sometimes those are positives depending on how much Hollywood knows about the culture they are referring. It is highly probable that Latin American people have been adapted to the different behaviors that they perceive from the North American people and is this way they change their way to think. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to show how values affects the cultural exchange in different sociocultural issues. It is relevant to mention some basics concepts as a culture, interculturality and stereotypes to make sense through the whole text. Besides, this negative image of the country has been promoted, because since many years, Colombia has faced inner conflicts, which became into the main focus of the national and international media. Also, this document describes how the media could impact the world displaying soap operas, series, TV shows related to drug traffic, violence and guerillas in Colombian culture, as a resource to promote a negative image of the country. Finally, this research identifies which stereotypes are cultural barriers in negotiations, but the world allows to Colombia shows the potential of its market with the aim of share its culture with the world.
