Abstract in english
Marine pollution, which has worsened significantly in recent decades, represents a significant global challenge, especially due to the accumulation of abandoned fishing nets in the ocean, which seriously threatens marine life. Colombia, being a country with extensive coastlines and an economy dependent on fishing, faces the problem of irresponsible disposal of nets fishing, which generate nylon waste that could be used in the textile industry. The latter has been affected by price fluctuations and shortages of materials, which has caused economic difficulties in companies such as Coltejer, which has had to resort to layoffs and liquidation of operations. For this reason, it has proposed the integration of these two industries through the collection process, separation and transformation of fishing nets. The methodology used in this research has proven to be effective for address the problem of marine pollution by recovering and separating marine waste abandoned fisheries, turning them into valuable resources for the textile industry. The Results obtained include effective collection, efficient separation of materials and a positive impact on the reduction of marine pollution. facing complex environmental challenges, these results underscore the feasibility and importance to adopt sustainable and collaborative approaches.
