NIOSH recommends that hearing conservation programs be implemented for all unprotected workers who are exposed for 8 hours a day working at intensities equal to or greater than 85 decibels (A) and that the program include at least the following components. 1. Initial and annual Review Procedures. 2. Analysis of noise exposure. 3. Administrative technical controls of noise exposure. 4. Audiometric evaluation and monitoring of workers' hearing 5. Auditory prevention in workers. 6. Education and Motivation. 7. Keep a record. 8. Evaluation of the Program's Effectiveness.
