In the present work, tests were carried out with different iodiesel blends of palm and palm kernel oil, JET-A1 and additive to test the operation and performance in the aeronautical turbine J-69-T-25A. In the experimental tests, 6 different blends of JET-A1 fuel with renewable fuel Biodiesel were used and data were taken in 4 operating regimes which were at 38%, 70%, 80% and 100%. Five replicates were performed with all regimes. The tests were performed in a test bench with all the elements to take the measurements located at the FAC base in Madrid
Cundinamarca. The data were organized and compared between each of the mixtures, to finally obtain the results regarding contamination and gases, which showed that carbon dioxide emissions were maintained in lower percentage with
JET-A1, while carbon monoxide emissions were found in lower quantity when using mixtures with palm kernel with values between 0.08% and 0.14%. The thermal efficiency of 17.30% is the highest when using the mixture of JET-A1 - palm kernel and additive, while the lowest is 14.43% for the mixture of JET-A1 and palm, both operating at a regime of 100%. The mechanical impact on the combustion chamber was not found to have significant effects or leaks; soot was found on the turbine components.
