Absenteeism from work is a multi-causal phenomenon present in all organizations and with great negative impacts on business productivity and the quality of life of workers. Every day the need to take actions that contribute to reducing the negative causes and impacts of absenteeism becomes more evident. The objective of this study is to characterize absenteeism from work in the North Plant Project of the city of Bogotá in the period from January 1 to December 31, 2019. The study methodology is descriptive observational. The North Plant Contact Project database was analyzed, which includes the registry of 436 employees. It was evidenced that the work absenteeism in the North-We contacted Project in the period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019 allowed evidence that there were 2,527 absence events that generated 6,854 days, equivalent to 54,832 hours. It is concluded that the main cause of absenteeism was represented in general illnesses (42.65%), and the area with the highest levels of absenteeism is the area of offers (33.04%), with pathologies related to musculoskeletal risks being the most frequent. It is suggested to the North Plant Contact We Project, the creation of recommendation guides for an action plan in accordance with the main risks due to the evidence in the characterization of absenteeism from work.
