This research will be carried out in the company Pelikan Colombia S.A.S., (PCSAS), located in the city of Bogotá, (Montevideo Industrial Zone) in the production area, printing process, erasable marker line. Pelikan Colombia is a manufacturing company dedicated to the design, manufacture and marketing of products for the office, school and writing. The company is organized as follows: organization management, infrastructure, human resources, commercial, research and development, production, warehousing, distribution, customer service, quality management, purchasing, maintenance, systems, security and ecology. The printing process in the line of erasable markers, object of this research, has two UV type screen printing machines, which have a workload of forty-eight hours a day for six days a week, these machines are serviced , by six operators on rotating eight-hour shifts. This product line is divided into two references or families, erasable markers, for writing on acrylic boards, the printing of erasable markers has a participation of forty percent (40%) of units per year in the total production of this line. In this process, printing defects are being generated, such as non-readable texts, incomplete bar codes, poor adherence of the inks, which generates high waste due to defective parts, significantly lowering the efficiency and increasing the production cost of this line. of markers. The objective is to generate an improvement proposal, which allows us to mitigate the impact generated, due to the high costs of reprocessing and waste currently being presented.
